GPU problem. Need expert advice
Guys I need professional advice. Today I got a gpu HIS HD 3850 256mb from a pg member Azharkhan. As soon as I plugged it into my PC it started giving problems. First of all it was not giving any display at all. Though I could hear the PC running but it was not giving any display. Even the fan of the gpu was running. I contacted azhar and he told me that I should reset the cmos. I did that. Problem still persisted. I changed back to my 8500gt and it ran fine. Plz note that I am running my whole setup on cooler master 500watt psu. After that I tried to change bios settings but still the problem persisted. Even I updated my motherboards bios. Nothing happened. Then I pushed restart button during boot screen and viola it worked. It showed display. Now funny thing is that it gives only display after I restart using Ctrl+alt+delete or by pushing the restart button on my boot screen. It works fine after that no problem at all. One more thing I tried many time to unplug and plug it back to pciex slot. I installed and uninstalled drivers many time but the problem is still there. I am using DVI to VGA converter to connect it with my CRT moniter. I even used a new one thinking that maybe the old one has a fault. Plz guys need heeelp! BTW My motherboard is Asus P5gc-mx/1333

the fastest way to identify the problem is to check it on another PC or PCs if possible, if it gives same problem then there is something wrong with it, and if it works fine then it has some compatibility issues with your motherboard
you 1st wrote that there was no display, then you wrote "Then I pushed restart button during boot screen" so it means that later it gave display?
try to use another PSU connector with it
try to pull out all PCI cards (if any)
