there's also a flex channel mode, something b/w single and dual channel.
here's the link, but don't know whether it has go to do something with what fajoo says

..... Don't want to hear about it every single one's got a story to tell, Everyone knows about it from the Queen of England to the hounds of hell, And if I catch it coming back my way I'm gonna serve it to you, And that aint what you want to hear but thats what I'll do....
^ That's an excellent share, and going through that whole article I learned two new things,
1. Flex mode and
2. "Dual channel mode can be achieved with two, three or four DIMMs."
So about Fajoo's configuration, it is not Flex Mode because:
"To use flex mode, it is necessary to populate both channels."
So this is for either 2 or 4 sticks.
This however, is how his RAMs are configured in Dual Channel:
"Dual Channel (Interleaved) Mode Configuration with Three DIMMs"

Yar yesterday my other PC(PIII) stopped working. What happens is, when i turn it on nothing appears on the monitor, there is no display
The monitor's power is on, and every other thing is working fine....but there is no display
what could be the problem?
Which PIII u have branded or unbranded.r3aper to clearly understand the problem u need to answer the following questions.
1- After Turning On ur PC do u hear any beep sound?If yes than how many beeps?
2- Does your PIII have a AGP installed or u r using a builtin Graphics board?
3-Does the monitor Power light turns green somehow when u turn on the CPU?
4-How many RAM modules are installed in your PC? Try checking the RAM modules.

Guys my cousin has been having a problem lately.
Sometimes when he turns on the pc, the screen doesnt display, monitor stays on standby and the hdd light keeps flashing, and no beep sound etc .. What is this prob ? even i have it sometimes ... it goes away after 1 or sometimes 2 restarts .
well im facing this problem ... i have tested my system @ 3.7ghz on everest for more than 2 hrs no errors but when i run even this 3.6ghz overclocked on occt i get error code 4 whichis due to memory!!! i just wana ask how to fix it or it cant be fixedshould i increase my vram from 1.9 to even 2.1??? or what should i do? 2ndly onp5k-vm im facing this limitation that only 1:1 works so the moment i touch 492mhz on cpu n multi at 8 i cant even boot!!! vcore is 1.5v .. any suggestions GURUZ!!!
^ Whats vram ? Also ive increased my cpu fsb to 1025 and if i go any higher than that the system becomes unstable ... so i wanna ask, should i increase the voltage of the cpu aswell ? and which one is that :P, i today overclocked my ram and learnt that after 1.95v to the ram, then only it has started working otherwise the system was hanging .. :S ... so suggestions for my overclocking ..
@reaper
If the computer is responding, and there simply is no display, then it can a cable issue or monitor fault. You can check with the Num lock, Caps Lock keys, if they respond that means the system is running fine.
You will have to check the VGA cable and the monitor itself.
@vyrus
That is a very strange problem. I cant think of anything at the moment. Most probably a Motherboard or PSU issue. If your stuff is under warranty, claim this issue with the retailer..
You mean 256Mhz FSB; 256 * (4) = 1024Mhz (Quad Pumped) ...Also ive increased my cpu fsb to 1025 and if i go any higher than that the system becomes unstable ... so i wanna ask, should i increase the voltage of the cpu aswell ? and which one is that,
Anyway, yeah to go higher you need to increase the vcore.
An overclock always has to be tested by some Stress Testing utility. So whenever you try some new settings, always Stress your CPU and RAM to see if these settings are stable !
@opethian
Try increasing the voltage and see what happens.
I dont understand your divider limitation part ....
yar if ur not using aftermarket cpu cooler forget to reach 3.2 on that mobo ... i had been using it n 3.0ghz is max stable system tat ui can get on 630i ... yeah it overclocks 667mhz ram like HELL ... myself ran my rams at 1ghz+ ... well any how increase ur vcore to even 1.45volts or higher (1.5 is i guess limit on tat mobo) ... dnt worry reset ur bios if u get 88 on ur display in mobo ... rest dnt push ur rams voltage any higher i dnt suggest that! n by the way why u wana go higher than that its more than enough! on xfx 630i
<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
well i meant to say keh when i reach 980 on ram (490 mhz in cpu fsb) i hit a ceiling ... ie to say even i increase 1mhz on cpu ie 491 n ram becomes 982 )as it is 1:1 to cpu fsb i cant even boot my system ... have to reset the bios ... so any suggestions .. can it be due to bios update? i updated to 1001 just few days back ...
