i have used these and man they are good totaly worth thier price (well the price was high but still), so much crisp sound and perfect base, a new model is out
which one of these should i get
K518 Limited Edition @ 2500
or
Sony piiq @ 2000
Depends. What do you guys want them for? I'd say go for Koss KSC-75, but that really depends on your preferences.
And nah, the PIIQs aren't that good. They're more style, less substance. The Koss cans I mentioned above are waaay better than them and cheaper too. And with a better warranty.
Yea, probably cause the Triports have a low impedance, so they can be powered better by your player.
I'd say drop the Skullcandys. Not worth it.
My suggestion would be to go for the Cowon J3. Waaaaay better. Or if you dont want touch, then get one of the Sony Walkman. Trust me, iPods aint got nothing over them.
I own "Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones", they are expensive but the sound quality, specially base is just superb. Sennheiser CX 400 II is also good, one of my mate owns it and It's good in the offered price range.
I am looking to purchase headphones in the near future along with a Xonar DG (Specifically for the Amp). Which headphones would you recommend which fill this criteria:
1) Max Upto $250
2) Heavy Bass
3) Sturdy. (My only beef against Bose headphones).
4) Closed would be preferred but open can be considered.

HD598 has had quality control issues with the plastic breaking. There was a Audio Technica model for around 160$ which was pretty good but forgot its model
Remember there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
Used a pair of Sennheiser HD555 cans for a couple of years before they cracked and broke near one of the ear cans. Upgraded to HD595 and they sufferred the same fate, except faster ;/. Did some research and got hold of a pair of beyer dynamic dt770 premiums which totally blow the hd555/595 out of the water! (rejected dt880 because they are neutral, dt990 because the treble is too over pronounced for my taste).
The next step is getting an amp, saving up money to buy something decent.
