But 14.5k to shave off literally seconds from boot & load times? If boot times are so important, use the hibernation feature.
Imho the best use of 14.5k is to spend it on cpu & gpu, or maybe even a bigger screen, or even to charity. If you already have a beast rig that cannot be improved, then maybe...

To be honest, regardless of benchmarks there's not hell of a difference between SATA2 and SATA3 (IMO).
That's right any ssd will be faster than the fastest hdd.

Loading softwares/applications quickly means a lot to me. I multitask a lot across many softwares PLUS I @kingsface comment on Battlefield 3 load pretty much seals the deal
