      [HELP] System startup problem

      Alright,

      The problem

System booted up and got stuck at the INTEL splash screen just showing EB in the corner.

Initially I tried plugging the wires again, then the RAM, GPU. Still not going beyond the intel splash screen.

I pulled out all the ports/connections from the back. All USB connections.

      Now system works fine.

My mouse and printer both have been acting weird lately as well. I think it's related to the USB issue.

      The Question

What's wrong here guys? which component is malfunctioning here?

      The specifications

      DH67CL

      Core i72600

      4GB Corsair DDR3

      4 HDDs.

      Gigabyte HD 6950

      CM 690 casing

      Thermaltake TR2 800 PSU.

Probably motherboard..Must be having some usb issue I think.. Did you try to pull out each port individually by keep restarting the system? If its Usb's .. which are playing with you, then you might have to upgrade the Bios.

Some motherboards tend to hang at the bios screen when USB devices are connected to them, its a common thing. Go into the bios settings and disable anything which relating to "booting from USB", may it be in any boot device pattern.

Update your motherboard's BIOS while keeping your all ports plugged-in, and report back.

@striker101 I only pulled out the keyboard and plugged it back, no effect. System booted fine when I pulled all the USB out and only plugged the keyboard.

Will check this and report back.

@Ali Man Will check and report back.

Yep, that for sure can be it. Intel's motherboard's are a bit buggy for USB support as compared to other companys.

      Alright,

I'll limit the USB connections to minimum.

Mouse, Keyboard and Wifi only for a while and see if there's any improvement.

This is most likely to be a USB issue. Also happens with ASrock H67M, but not with their Z series boards (using both, happens on H67m and H61 S3U3, but on Z68 G3). I think the H series chipset is finnecky with it comes to USB

From where did you read it?

@Blastwave. It can be due to many USB devices are connected to it, there's a reason why ASRock Extreme3 is cheaper than Extreme4.
