^^ When there are too many bad sectors, the symptoms you're getting are the result ... A few weeks ago the same was the condition for one of my laptops ... The only solution is to replace the HDD ... I got a Samsung 500 GB HDD for 7000 rupees from RWP .. Working fine right now

Download a software known as HD Tune, it would show you the health of your HDD. And just to be sure if its really the HDD that is faulty and giving the blue screens.

Thanks everyone for reply. I would obviously buy new hdd but wanted to make sure that my old hdd is the main problem. So please guide me about hdtune what I can do with it. Will it separate bad sectors or will just tell me about health of my disk? I am downloading hdtune right now.

It would just tell you the health, read/write speed of your HDD. Bad sector's are usually permanent, they can't be removed.

No. HD Tune will only identify bad sectors and health of HDD. If it shows many bad sectors and poor health condition of your hard disk, it will prove that your hard disk is bad. Download it, install and run the tests. AND there is no free solution to repair bad sectors.
