Big news coming in from Sony today, the tech giant has announced that it will be officially renaming it’s highly popular online gaming service – PSN (Playstation Network) to SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) on February 8th.
This news is coming in just days after Sony named
Kaz Hirai it’s new CEO and President along with posting a record
$2 Billion dollar company wide loss.
Sony explained that the main reason behind the name changes was that they wanted to create “a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.”
Do note that current PSN subscribers will not have to change any of their account's information like usernames or passwords. A new firmware update is in the works and will be released very soon to implement the changes. After the change is complete you will have to agree to some new terms and conditions before signing in to the network again. To inform customers Sony will be sending current PSN subscribers emails so make sure to check your inboxes.
