PSN game sharing, is it legal or not?

do you consider PSN game sharing legal? i have been googling for over 10 mins now and so far what i have determined is that UN WILLINGLY sharing a game is legal and that games can be shared up to 5 systems i just wanna know whether i will get banned or not and whether i should do future game shares or not =( some sites say its legal others say its illegal i am confused and worried that sony might ban my beautiful PS3, if its illegal ill gladly pay extra if i have to and buy PSN cards on my own. can someone with experience tell me if i am being too paranoid or is it a safe hobby?

So far people are not getting banned for game sharing. But if you wanna stay safe, you should not adopt this method.

but i wanna be safe which is why i made this thread, i might participate in a shank game share but i keep stressing out that i might get banned or something =(

well the legality of the issue is in question is in the moral grey area the feature is primarily is there for people who have more than one Ps3 and would like to play their Psn games on multiple PS3 without buying it again it its not so that you can further sell your games to people you know and there have been cases where Sony banned PSN ID that have been seen with unusual Game sharing namely the Account the PG member Vyrus had it was banned cause of excessive sharing. even though its not considered illegal its a bad idea to gameshare. Plus NEVER Give out your master account for sharing the Max limit for activated ps3 is five if you have activated your account on five ps3 (Given to friends for gameshare) and your current PS3 gets fried you'll lose that account until you free up a slot from a active PS3 via deactivation which is a hassle to do if you dont know the person you have given the account to so stay safe and avoid gamesharing if possible

The account which shares gets banned. And when that happens the games you got will become unplayable since the game checks for the accounts password before starting. Even if you downloaded the game before the account got banned.

so worst case scenario for the person who GOT the games in this me is that the games will stop working? and i won't get banned?

Yeah that's pretty much it, the games you got from that account will stop working. I once got a game from gamesharing, the guy changed the pass and the game became unplayable for me, gave me an error, so I told him to keep the password the same as before. Better then getting banned but still if you paid for the account it's a loss.

nahi what i did was i paid 2k for a game share which included scott pilgrim vs the world along with other games like street fighter 2 etc the only game i really wanted was scott the others were a bonus in the deal so worst case scenario i lose 2k i learned my lesson and from now on i am just gonna buy games using PSN cards =)

btw havent encountered this problem u talking about GH ! password changed and the guy couldnt play a game :S when did this started happening...

well i had one experience got a 150$ account and the account gotbanned after that the games which i got thru those account are still being played by me on my own account
