    Thread: PTCL modem password.

      Thumbs up PTCL modem password.

      Today I noticed that my modem has actually a wifi. Its model is ZTE ZXDSL 831CII. It has logo on ptcl on it. It shows PTCL-BB as wifi connection. When I try to connect it requests password which I dont have. It also says that you can connect by pushing a button on router. (it doesnt have any besides reset). Also by going through 192.168.1.1 there is no configuration for wifi.
      Signature Remove: Don't put wrong quranic verses in the signatures.

      try entering the last 8 digits of the MAC Address, that's set by default (on the bottom of the modem/router). BTW Your modem isn't a Wi-Fi modem. it's only ethernet. I used to have it.

      EDIT: WTF I checked ZXDSL 831CII ISN'T A WIFI MODEM. It's probably your neighbor's Wi-Fi.

      this guy is talking about the WPA key of the Wireless network

      @delfunky! Are you sure you are giving us the Correct Model number? Because this specific model of ZTE modem doesn't have any WiFi.

      Most WiFi modems of such class (cheap i mean) DO have an Antenna for Wireless. Your modem dont have any.


      EDIT: Even if it has a WiFi settings, then Password (Security Key) can be obtained from Wireless Settings inside Modem Configuration page.

      Take a picture of your modem and post it here. Does it have an antenna? What does it look like? PTCL-BB must be your neighbors Wi-Fi.

      power off your modem and check wifi networks, if ptcl bb is still there then its ur neighbors
