      i think no one here on PG knows about this.. PTCL is Introducing 50MB VDSL incorporation with Alcatel Lucent

      PTCL has become the 1st operator in the world to use VDSL2 Bonding technology to provide to its bandwidth hungry DSL customers with Bandwidth up to 50 Mbps on its existing Copper network.

      ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Alcatel-Lucent in a joint press conference held on Friday announced the launch of VDSL2 Bonding technology for the first time in Pakistan pioneering the commercial use of this technology in the telecom industry globally.

      PTCL will be the first service provider to deploy a commercial VDSL2 Bonding solution, showing “our commitment to take the broadband service experience in Pakistan to the next level.”

      PTCL needs to spend more time on providing a reliable service on its existing packages first.

      Let me quote my friend who works in PTCL. When I inquired him about VDSL he replied:
      Good for areas with poor line conditions having many excessive pairs. So you can combine two pairs & make one good connection. 50mbps is just so fake.
      He heads up projects for them e.t.c

      Interesting STrikerX. So you are implying that the technology will be used to improve their existing service and not to deliver higher bandwidth packages? If that is the case then it is good news.
