Pokemon Black & White 2 added 420,780 sales to the till in Week 26 of the Japanese sales charts, bringing the pair of games' two-week total to 1,982,518.
The DS titles fell just shy of outselling the other 19 games on Media Create's Top-20 list combined (433,641) for the second consecutive week.
Taking spots 2-4 were a trio of new games: Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of the Land of Twilight, an RPG for the PS3, Robotics;Notes, an adventure game for the PS3/Xbox 360 and the new Culdcept game for the 3DS (a personal favorite series of mine).
Twelve new games in all populated Week 26's Top-20, including some notable re-brands and collections: Resident Evil Chronicles HD Selection, Fatal Frame 2: Wii Edition and Metal Gear Solid HD Edition.
As for hardware, the PS Vita saw a nice bump thanks to the new white version being introduced, as well as the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid HD Edition, which, paired with Persona 4 Golden, gave the Vita two games in the top-13 and about 40,000 units of software moved.
The Vita bumped to 25,636 units, beating its older handheld sibling for the fourth week in a row.
Otherwise things were mostly status quo, with the 3DS easily holding serve and outselling every other piece of hardware in Japan, combined (64,563), by almost 2,000 units.
