      Upgrading PS3 HDD

so i have a 200GB sata II 2.5" hdd currently used as a passport but with my 16GB USB i no longer need it and was hoping i could use this HDD with my PS3 instead as it offers MUCH FASTER speed (7200 rpm with 16MB cache which is super rare in a 2.5")

i wanna know whether i can swap HDD and make sure ALL MY DATA IS INTACT i.e my PSN account, saves etc i want it to be as if i am still on my original HDD but with the additional space =)

can someone tell me whether i am off on a fools errand or whether there is way where i can have ALL MY DATA i.e my trophy data, save games etc WITH ME on the 200GB?

P.S the official thread guide is giving me a 404 so i thought i'd make a guide

Sync your trophies, they'll be saved.
Only those games' saves are backup up that don't have copy protection. There is a backup and restore option but its quite useless. Your audios and videos will be backed up, the profiles and images and saved games that don't have copy protection but downloaded games, and installed data will be lost.

is it true that a 7200rpm HDD won't work with the PS3? =(

umm i remember i did an upgrade to my 60gb to 320gb 2 yrs back and i used the consoles backup option and stuff and all of my saves and stuff and everything including profiles etc were backed and yes that includes dlded games and all their licenses etc.

imo sync ur trophies after that delete unwanted audios and videos so u can save up time for backing it up on an external device ur data and than use the games back up and restore function works v,good !

now i have told u what u need to know here, so no need to CALL ME !

and no 7200rpm works just fine !
