Black ops matchmaking depending on Game region or Account region?

Can anyone explain this.I have a legit US black ops copy and am playing it on my US account.i always get connected to US server which results in very high ping and lag.so i decided to create a UK account,which i did and gave all UK address details with postal code etc.now you can check your gepgraphical region in black ops in options menu.my geographical region is set to US which obviously relates to my account region.I checked the geographical region with my UK account and it still was set to US.i connected into lots of matches but every time i still got connected to US servers.i had a red bar connection.I also change my windows live id region to UK,but still it gives US geographical region.

What i dont understand is that does matchmaking in multiplayer depend on ur account region or ur game region cause i have mw2 in Pal region and get connected to european servers..also on ps3 its different.i have region 2/Pal black ops on ps3 and and two different accounts(UK and India).with each account i get different region matchmaking according to account region.eg on Indian account i get connected to Indian,UAE,KSA servers.On xbox account region change it didnt affected the matchmaking region at all.it might be that regional matchmaking depends on ur game region ONLY.

Haven't been on LIVE for while now. But I used play COD: WAW and I think it used to connect me according to my physical location. i.e. they detected my IP address. Not sure of this. The nearest people were the Middle East brats. And I used to get the lowest ping with them and hence little to no lag.

for people who are playing on pirated black ops copy thats malaysian,practically it is ntsc-j or asian region.they will most of the time get into servers close to Pakistan like middle east servers.
