Guide to mod/hack an xbox 360?

So I finally was able to purchase a 360, now the first thing I want to do is to mod it so that it can play downloaded games. I was expecting to find a guide here on how to do it, but cant find any.

An internet search shows various methods ranging from simple software where only the DVD is connected to the computer to proper chip level modifications.

I dont know which to follow.

I have a jasper xbox 360 elite.. can any one please guide me to a guide where it explains the simplest method of modding it.

im not in Pakistan so I cant send it to anyone.

Ive seen guides that state connecting DVD drive to PC and downloading new firmware.. im looking for a more detailed guide on that

its not easy .... you need to have proper connectivity kit ... plus a compatible sata chipset and also require softwares ..... in short its very risky and complicated... because ive seen people destroy their xboxes while trying to mod
