      burning xgd3 backups

ok so its 4th time i wasted the banana disk.. i'm trying to burn NFS: RUN but i failed to write it properly every time, i am getting error when i start the game from xbox360.. I set the layer break to calculate optimal and the writing speed is 2.4x, since its xgd3 so i must truncate it, what else should i do, by following the above settings when i write it didn't work, what could be the problem, am i missing something or google has cheated me by providing the fake ISO ?

1 - what LT version your xbox drive have?
2 - if it's 3.0, what dvd burner drive you are using?

for proper and easy burns you need a burner with the iXtreme Burner-Max firmware

^ you dont need lite-on max burner to burn backups for LT3.0 .. you can burn backups using a normal burner just fine .... they work aswell .... @OP .. dude i guess you burner is failing .. because banana discs do not support 2.4x speed properly .... for banana discs .. minimum speed to burn on should be 4x ... try using 4x .... and whats your firmware version on your xbox360?

What about games like forza 4 which have anti-piracy checks in the last 3% of the disc data? normal burners without the ixtreme burner max firmware can't write more than 97% as far as I know and that's whay C4eva said. And if you burning only 97% of certain XGD3 backups you are taking a chance of getting a flag.

^yes forza 4 is the only game which requires a full MAX burn .. all other games work fine with truncated burns ... and an offline player doesnt need the ihas burner other than for forza .. and the truth about flagging is that no one knows how MS flags consoles .... you never know

well, you never know when game developers will throw a game which require full burn, so buying a cheap lite-on drive and flashing it (which is very easy to do) is not a bad deal since now most titles are coming with XGD3 (Devil May Cry HD Collection, Ninja Gaiden 3, Mass Effect 3) and so on.

thats the problem .. a MAX burner is not available very easily in PAK .. i myself had to order from abroad ... and after that the burning of backups on cheap media like banana is very dodgy and a lot of bad burns happen ... you have to use verbatims if you want to avoid bad burns and those are expensive here

I use my Laptop to burn games and instead of IMGBurn, i always used CloneCD. In my experience, Banana DVDs are not reliable. There are times when i buy a pack of Banana DVDs and burn them on settings that were working perfectly fine on a previous pack that i had ; they simple fail to burn correctly even though i am using correct settings.

I have wasted one whole pack with different settings and using both CloneCD and IMGBurn. 10 DVDs were wasted but i had success again with the next pack. So Banana is not entirely reliable and same is the case with Melody. Still buy cheap Banana DVDs is better than getting the expensive Verbatim DVDs.

I too have a LT MAX compatible burner but due to loadshedding, i mostly have to burn games on my Laptop.

^must be something else mate ... ive burned thousands of banana dvds and the wastage percentage is less than 10 percent ... i hardly get a bad burn using bananas ... the only bad burns i get on banana are when im using them with LT mAX burner ... that too is less ... i guess 1-2 dvds wasted in a 10 pack when burning with MAX
