People are getting more creative in using Facebook as a means of extracting dirt from their significant others, it seems. A complicated divorce drove a 29-year-old woman named Angela Voelkert to create a fake Facebook account to get incriminating evidence against her husband, David. Angela then assumed the identity of a 17-year-old girl named
Jessica Studebaker, and befriended David on Facebook. A relationship of sorts developed between David and the fake profile, apparently leading to a bizarre plan to have his wife taken out of the picture. Murdered, in other words.
Court documents report that David's messages indicated that he asked
Jessica to find someone at her school to dispatch his wife, so he could have custody of their kids. After being arrested, however, David was able to prove to authorities that he knew all along that it was his wife who was behind the
Jessica Studebaker profile. Charges filed against David have since been dropped.
