i want to gift sumthng to my father. What should it be? Any good suggestions? Note: he is 50+

You should buy him whatever fascinates him the most. For example, if I had to buy something for my father, I would choose something from electronic/computer gadget as he is into it a lot these days.

Buy him something a bit extra-ordinary, expressing your love for him. I am a father too so I can understand what would be the feeling of a carefully selected gift item from the son.

You can always give him a nice branded wrist watch , that will do it if u arent on a budget

yea gift him something related to something he likes doing, like I would gift my dad some golf related stuff like clubs , or a new golf bag etc.

and if you cant decide get im a nice pair of shoes or shirt, or cuff links or a tie if he's an office oriented guy.

Considering your dad is 50+, I would get him something which he can use as a hobby. Something like a Fishing Rod or a Rifle to shoot ducks and shit.
