I feel sorry for you. Sulemaniye Mosque is in a dingy area and you have to walk a bit to reach it. The Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet mosque) ,on the other hand, is spread over a large area which perfectly suited for tourists.
Now don't tell me you didn't visit Hagia Sophia as well It faced the Blue Mosque and is the pink coloured building

Hoping to see a blog from you soon Khawaja.

I feel like going to Turkey again. Stupid School management. I'm busy with the exams currently so the blogs can be a bit late.

This was originally a church which was then transformed into a mosque and now currently it's a museum.

ok wiki xplains it quite nicely ... hagia irene is the ist church by constatine the great, hagia sophia was also built by him but the present structure is actualy 3rd church, the remains of 2nd church r also there but 4m ist church everything iz burnt, so ottoman im sure u must have xplored these ancient pieces of brick n mortar ... plz do share ... Waisay lucky u guys u got a chance to b so close to pieces of art who age more than 1600yrz ...

btw ... ghalib bhai ... lahore ... esp old lahore is a vry nice location ... a photowalk wud b a great thing to do ... must plan sumthing march is about to end n im about to get my freedom

Thanks man. Yeah I've been inside it and the walls were covered with paintings/murals of Jesus and some Christian saints. The Ottomans covered it all up with sticky paper to hide them when the building was transformed into a mosque. Sadly, it's in a bad shape
