Windows could not load the installer for DiskDrive.

I have tried to search for my issue but did not come up with anything so here is my problem, I hope that there is a person here who may have the answer for me.

I got a PC from a friend and it was not loading so I tried to re-install Windows XP but I am getting this error:

Windows could not load the installer for DiskDrive

I have no idea what that means or even a clue as to what to look at.

I have tried with different XP SP2 CDs - CD ROMs - IDE Cables - Hard drive - bootable USB of Windows7. But this error comes up during installation and still persists.

      System is fujitsu siemens MTR-D1837.

Try resetting your bios or changing your controller to ATA/ S-ATA instead of RAID

such issues occur mostly in 2 cases

*there is a bad burn in you OS installation disk i.e. a corrupted file on the disk etc
*there is a bad sector on your hard-drive

so if your friend was using this PC just fine i'll guess the installation files/images/CD/DVD u used might not be ok.
If you have a spare hard-drive my first try would be to see if the error occurs when i replace it. If yes then you should just re-partition your hard-drive so as to leave the bad sector between 2 partitions.

Try changing the disc, if that does not works, try changing the sata/ide cable and unplug/replug the power connector to the optical drive. Sometimes it does this sort of problem.
If it persists, try removing the memory module and replug it back. Else ask your friend to provide u the copy of the installation disc he used to install from.

After such headache I told my friend to send back the PC to the reseller from where he recently bought and the reseller told us that "there is no problem in PC i have installed Windows7 you and can pick ur PC anytime"

I am just shocked coz as u ppl know i have tried and replaced almost everything which causes trouble. But i really appreciate and Thankyou for your replies

Or maybe that reseller installed the Windows with Ghost Image...
