since you have over written your drive there is a slim chance for data recovery.

try ontrack data recovery solutions. has worked for me wonders even with formatted drives. But over written drives are a bit messy. try ur luck. I am sure you didnt fill up the drive completely ??? so its possible that during image writing the drive only got 30-40% filled. So rest of data can be recovered.

      try n see

Yup as gttx said, overwriting have reduced the chances of data recovery. Hope you get your data back.

You'll find literally MILLIONS of recovery softwares, but only a handful of them work like they are supposed to.

      I'll list ONLY TWO.

      1. Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro
      2. Recuva (by Piriform)

However, Its only possible if you leave the formatted/damaged drive Untouched. In your case, you have already written your data on that partition so dont expect any miracles now. Chances of recovery are minimal, I wont say more than 20-30% only if you are lukcy. You can try your luck.
