Entertainment Weekly magazine has the first pics from Ridley Scott’s movie, ‘Prometheus’… still something to do with the Alien mythos, prequel is it? It’s flip-flopped so much on Rumour Avenue it’s hard for me to think straight as far as this film is concerned. Should be one worth watching though. Hey, isn’t that Stringer Bell from The Wire in the pilot seat? Well, Idris Elba’s presence is enough to raise up any project a few notches for me!

When it comes to sci-fi classics, Ridley Scott has a pretty impeccable record. Not only did he direct the fiery 1979 action-fest
Alien, he helmed the genre-redefining
Blade Runner in 1982. So it’s understandable that anticipation is running high for Scott’s upcoming sci-fi return,
Prometheus, a 3-D space thriller starring Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Noomi Rapace, which is set to hit theaters on June 8, 2012. Lucky for you, EW has the exclusive first look at the film!

The top-secret project, about a team of scientists whose spaceship (called
Prometheus) gets marooned on a distant planet, has been teased as an
Alien prequel, and although Scott and his cast won’t confirm that for sure, they certainly aren’t denying it. “There’s definitely a link to
Alien,” claims Fassbender before adding, “There’s creatures in it that you’ll recognize.” But other cast members, like Theron, are playing coy. Says the actress, “I think people should really let go of the idea that it’s an
Alien film.” So are the two films related at all? Truthfully, it may be a while before we know whether the $100 million Fox production is, in fact, directly related to
Alien, but we do know one thing for sure: People will be
very eager to see the finished product.
