Johnny Depp may play The Riddler in Batman 3

Johnny Depp has reportedly been approached to play a villain in the next Batman movie.

The actor wanted to portray The Riddler in the sequel to The Dark Knight, according to studio bosses.

A source said: "Johnny would be amazing as The Riddler. The studio knew they needed someone who could match or even top the late Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in the most recent film The Dark Knight, and think Johnny has the potential to do so."

The Riddler is a manic supervillain who baffles Batman with his cryptic criminal clues. He first appeared in the comic book series in 1948, and was portrayed by Frank Gorshin in the 1960s US TV show, a role which earned him an Emmy nomination.

More recently, The Riddler was played by Jim Carrey in the 1995 movie Batman Forever.

Studio bosses are also said to be keen to get Philip Seymour Hoffman to play The Penguin in the new movie.

^^ i wasn't talking about hoffman, i was talking about that emo depp shit. But i think we are rather safe, Nolan has a great eye for talent and acting skills and even after depp wanted to play the joker in TDK, Nolan refused his ass and casted ledger.

In other rumors, jolie hs also contacted WB and wants to play the catwoman.

I was ecatstic, depp has no range of acting. He would have never fitted in the serious batman films with his lame wide eyed expressions

Edit: I also think The riddler won't be a good choice for the third film, he's kind of similar to the joker.

I know it, i know it, i was telling Shahan the same thing one week back, and it happen.. but sad thing is who will play the jokes again, there is no one alive to top the joker Acting. Not even Jony.. he is the best but i dont think so he can top heath.
