      Software Engineering is a part of Computer Science/Computer Engineering ,It all depends on courses and from which institute you are doing it.,Karachi University has the best CS program in which you get a lots of Knowledge on Software Programming.

      Looks like you just done your Intermediate....and if you are really intersted in Software side...i ll recommend you try for Karachi University BSCS program....

      If you love maths, formulas & logics, Software engineering is for you, else go for any other sub category of computer science..

      Before suggesting you something, Engeneering is major category in any fields, engineers will always be preferred over others .... it all depends upon you.. i will list 3 real life example of salary packages of different peoples i know doing job in computer fields.

      1: One of the guy i know, Completed his Computer Engineering (BS) from a reputable University + later he did MBA, got a job offer from Australia, (Salary: 1 lac 60 thousands) Currently doing job in Pakistan (Salary: 1 lac 20 thousand) includes a Flat & 1000CC Car from Company.

      2: Second Guy, completed his bachelors degree in Technical field, currently doing job as a network engineer (Salary: 25.000) has a offer from ARY Digital as Network Support Engineer (Salary: 45.000)

      3: Third Guy: Completed his regular education, he is into Video Editing & Film Making, currently doing job in AAJ TV (Salary: 40.000)

      I will advice you to prefer computer engineering and complete your bachelors degree in it, Graphic designer has lot of scope in TV Chanel, but not equal to an Engineer, and you can always do short courses in Graphic designing if you want to join this field later..

      BS = Bachelor of Science.

      If he did Computer Engineering (compared to Comp Science), he would've got BE.

      Btw, what field in computers is the 1.6 lac guy working?

      With a software engineering degree, you limit your options only to specific fields of software and that's that. Getting ahead is also a problem with new technologies coming in so often..

      With a Computer Science degree you can have a lot of options to work in various industries and getting ahead is relatively easier.

      What I recommend is DONT BE A GENERALIST, SPECIALIZE IN SOMETHING!

      Get a dedicated degree.
