Post How to make a custom CS spray

I have seen many people asking about how to make a custom CS spray. Following is the answer.

5 Step solution to Custom sprays By MindFreak.

1 ) Take any picture like for instance take a 104 x 64 pixels picture. The smaller the better it shows up on cs.

      2) Download this handy software from http://www.grlea.org/easydecal/download.html (Make sure you have Java)

      3) Run the software and Add the file that you want to use as a spray. Click on make decal, a file will be created like if the original filename was mindfreak.gif then the file would be mindfreak.gif.wad.

      4) Rename this file to tempdecal.wad and paste it in your cstrike folder. There will already be a file named tempdecal.wad in your cstrike folder so just simply overwrite the older file with this new file.

      5) Run CS and SPRAY, THERE YOU GO!

Ok, as I said, here is my tutorial on making a custom spray for Counter-Strike 1.6 in a very easy way.

      So lets get started:

1 - Download the "Decal Converter 1.3" from HERE

2 - Now open up a image editor like Adobe Photoshop and create a 256 color bmp picture. Width and Height dimensions must be multiple of 16 pixels. Multiplication Width*Height (in pixels) must be less (and strictly less !!!) than 12288.

3 - Save your picture somewhere in your PC like abcd.bmp etc..

      -------------------------------------------------------
Optional Step (if you want to make a spray with transparent background)
3b - Make the background of your image either pure blue or Black (#000000).
      -------------------------------------------------------

4 - Now launch the Decal Converter 1.3, open your image in it like this:

5 - Click on Decal>Make Decal and save it to somewhere like say on your desktop, because we are going to modify the file later and it is easy access on the desktop.

6 - now rename your saved file on the desktop from "pldecal.wad" to "tempdecal.wad" and make the file Read-Only" by checking the read-only file attribute from the file properties (right click >> Properties)

7 - Now copy the file in your Counter-Strike game folder i-e:

D:\Valve\cstrike (just choose the folder wherever your CS is located in)

That's it..you can now make a LAN game and test your new spray..here is the screenshot of my Spray

      |ATS|->Shooter| is my nick on local cablenetwork i-e Fariya Network, karachi.

      Enjoy!
