It's also about resources. Let's say if you've crappy system with a better internet, that won't make any sense to run at 1kfps at all.
But
If you've a good system with crappy internet, that makes a lot of sense to shift load from internet to the system.

Anyway, the better solution for you would be move to Linux or any BSD (like FreeBSD) and change the hz of the kernel and recompile it. You'll see a lot of differences that'll also eat up pretty good amount of hardware, not that much for you according to your specs.![]()
Meh. Its working good enough for me whenever friends and I want to play. You guys can try it and report back though.

BTW, I get 1000fps steady without this. Just by unlocking the cstrike limitation by developer 1... (For LAN, client side servers. =])

developer 1 is a client-side command NOT server-side. Hence it'd only effect on client's FPS (That is yours) and won't effect on server's FPS (That is your friends).BTW, I get 1000fps steady without this. Just by unlocking the cstrike limitation by developer 1...
