      Tyre Advice

Am driving a 2002 City, roughly driving 1000kms per month.
Currently have R13, 185,70 installed so now since it's time to replace them, I thought to ask here for opinions and options.

Was also wondering if I should stick to R13 or change to R14? Does that have any mechanical advantage/disadvantage?

      Thanks!

If you increase rim size you should compensate with a lower profile tyre. Keep the ride height the same to avoid stressing the suspension.
As for different tyres I'm no expert in that area

R13 tire being for a 13" rim and R14 tire being for a 14" rim. So I'm not sure if its a good idea to put a tire with an internal diameter of 14" on a wheel rim of 13". But you can try and see if it fits.

You're basically elevating the cars height, giving it more clearance. Mechanically, this shouldn't give any issue unless you're increasing the rim size from its stock size, which lowers performance and stresses the suspensions tie-rod ends.

Nah, if I go for 14" then I'll change the rims to 14" too. Height will be compensated by lowering the tire profile to 65 from 70. I just wanted to get the technical insights on tire thickness and rim size ratio and its affect on performance/durability.

The more the '''s, the less the profile, the sooner your suspension gets boinked. I made that mistake. The best size an inch more than your stock

Stock's at 13. So 14's good to go for me?

Also, which tyre? Yokohama, Dunlop, Bridgestone? Michelin ?

      Woah, thanks for that.

R13/185/70 is about the same performance as R14/185/65

Dunlop makes the most roughest tires in Pak. They're rugged and do tend to work for a while before they wear off.

185/65/R14 should be pretty okay. Slight difference ... but doesnt matter.

Funny as it may sound, Id suggest the new Eurostars by General. You will be able to find a FRESH tyre easily. Most other imported stuff usually are a few months old.
