      Exclamation A guide to CAR TUNING !

      ok yes i do not have a guide from myself about this but what the experts to HELP me out here as to exactly what to check and do while taking a car FOR TUNING ! U KNOW that 400rs wali tuning lol where they usually check spark plugs, oil levels and stuff etc...

      what else to do ! thanks

      BTW i just had my civic 2000's tuning ! it had alot of stuff in it to do lol, clutch plate oil was low, brake oil LOW, steering fluid LOW haha, radiator had ALMOST no water well alot of work hehe

      throttle body cleaned it UP....

      mechanic also told me DISC PAD needs replacing, so need an overview on which disc pads should i install in it ? its a civic 2000 MODEL genuine condition !.. manual vti oriel... So experts do ur work !

      btw dont forget to post what to look for while doing a general tuneup !

      Well everything that you've mentioned should pretty much cover it up. The only things that you missed out to check or replace was the Air Filter and cleaning the end-points of the distributor if it isn't the distributorless ingnition version.

      Alright, I'll just write out the rest too

      - For cleaning your whole water system, drain the water and the old dirty coolant out. Buy two packs of Coolant (the green ones), pour it in the radiator and the rest pour water to fill it up.

      - Change your spark plugs every 10,000km. Denso and NGK are good companies. Bosch, not so much. Its only good for certain cars and not many, not yours for sure. These plugs come in a universal packaging. So I wouldn't need to go into hot plugs or cold plugs.

      - Change your Air-filter every 6000km (or every second oil change).

      - Check brake fluid level and top it up when low.

      - Change your oil and oil-filter every 3000km (max 3500km). Use the oil which is closest to the required viscosity of your engine specs. Good Oil companies in order of preference are:

      1) Caltex Havoline
      2) Zic
      3) Shell

      'Total' makes the most useless oil and you can use that if you're running really low on budget.
      At each oil change, don't forget to keep the power steering & clutch fluid at the required level.

      Please note:
      Don't keep switching between two different brands of oil as its not good for the engine. If you use Havoline and if you're satisfied with it, then continue to use that for your next oil change and so on.

      how can you say zic is good.in my mehran its life ended just ater 1200 km which is very low

      but with shell same mehran is giving 4500 + but when we used zic we travelled from murree to jhang and then come back and after one week oil was like trash .we changed with shell it gives 4500+

      No oil gives that much mileage, its all marketing BS. Not even Liqui Moli.

      I've only quoted the safe times in KM of when to change the oil. But to be honest, KM's doesn't tell anything about when to or when not to change the oil. The oil color itself tells that. As soon as it starting getting dark black, well then its good time to change it and Not when its completely black. Otherwise then there's a good chance of sludge forming in the engine, its camshafts etc.

      @kamran saeed: d00d i've heard that islamabad etc FAKE ZIC is pretty common and u might have got that one instead of the real thing ! i've heard good things about ZIC but its damn expensive and havoline and shell are equally good so i use em cheaper and better

      @Ali Man: just tell me what more things u DONT Do lol first the pc stuff and now this too hehe nice

      anyways my question about DISC PADS remain ! what good disc pads to change my worn out pads in my civic 2000 ?

      ohh and yeah i did cleaned my air filter which was still usable and changed spark plugs which were ngk bkr6e11 ! and what is this end points of the distribution ?
