sims 3 lags

okay so am trying to play sims 3 but it lags alot when moving the the screen.
my pc specs :
amd athlon x2 2.6ghz
9600gt 512mb
2gb ram

it doesnt matter what resolution i play at it still lags, even tried to turn all settings to low but no luck.
is there any fix or anything to solve my problem. tried googling but couldnt find any help.

hmmm i have played sims 3 on my dual core 1.6ghz and 7200gs card and at low it runs with 20+fps no lag...so its possible ke fault might be in your hard disk...reading time etc..use a hard drive monitor utility to check the state/health of your hdd

bro i downloaded a harddisk monitor and it tells me that one of my hard drives health status is 100% ( windows and other data stored) and the other one is about 85% ( games only).
i assume 85% isnt bad, so what now ?
