Android users can now use their touchscreen devices to interact with the Xbox 360.
Microsoft released the Android app for Xbox SmartGlass on the Google Play App Store. Today was also the launch of the app for Windows devices. The release coincides with the debut of Windows 8 and Microsoft’s new Surface tablet line.
SmartGlass allows Xbox 360 owners to take control of the console’s dashboard from their mobile devices. Users can navigate the dash, type messages, and select applications with the help of SmartGlass.
The app is compatible with the recently launched Internet Explorer browser for Xbox 360, as well as Xbox’s Video and Music apps.
An iOS version of the app has also been announced, but no release date has been confirmed.
