i haven't used it much... but i know it is smooth boring and maybe stable
You made my point
For Android to perform better and 'last' longer, you will have to tweak it.
If I am paying 50k for a phone, I want most out of my money the moment I open the box. Not after tweaking with it.
Lets make it 25k, or hell even 15k is a handsome amount these days. If I am getting it, I want most out of it the moment I lay my hands on it. Not after tinkering with it
There is no need to do such things in other OSes

Sorry mary, your argument doesn't make any sense. No Android user I know personally puts ROMs on their phones except 2 (out of more than 15), even I don't put a ROM on it unless it's unsupported (and then I just buy a new phone).
So no, tweaking is not *required* on Android to get the intended experience, especially not after ICS. I doubt you've even used ICS. What GrunT is talking about is the freedom of choice.
You can choose to make third-party apps default for operations, delegate operations to other apps so that you don't have to code uselessly. It's this inter-communication between apps that makes Android unique. iOS, WP7 or even Meego can't do this one. Example: An app that needs to store barcodes can delegate the "reading the barcode" part to another app like Google Goggles or Barcode reader.

Define: FAST?
Are you referring to the UI Animations/Transitions etc?
How did you jump to the conclusion, saying "They were not as fast"?
Oh wait ... Yes that "Lag" you mentioned.
So it seems you are intentionally not mentioning the "Freedom" Android Owners get for their money.
You might've heard about the 4G AT&T variant which was NOT using Exynos Chipset
Fastest? Umm ... For a device this sized, yes Its Fastest
(Considering there isn't a device of THAT size with a 720p SuperAMOLED Gigantic & Orgasamic display.)
If you want "The Most" (benefit) of your money ... Out of the Box ... then YOU should get iOS or a WP7 device[/sarcasm]
Leave the rest of the people buying Android. Because you actually DO get what you pay for. Infact, you get MORE than that, which includes the FREEDOM to do almost anything with your device. Kind of a thing which Geeky people would love to have.
Mind you, just like @FanDroid mentioned, its not *compulsory* to do the tweaking to make it faster. Instead, you get the OPTION to make it EVEN BETTER, which most people do avail.
So 3 times you said that.
Makes me think ... Tum andar se he daray huway ho
At times, a Custom ROM becomes Most Suitable solution available for you.
Want a Fine Example?
Hint Hint: Cyanogen Mod
Risks are attached to almost everything like that.

Almost all of the people who are into this stuff, should do their readings first, before jumping in the Battlefield. It yields "Effective" results. Heck even if you do something idiotic, you still are given a chance to Redeem your device. (Hint Hint: Download/Recovery Modes of Android devices)

To end this 'weak' discussion of yours ... Please ussay "WP7" ki suggestion do. You dont need to 'brag' about Android and its 'weak points'![]()
i think wp7 is quite efficient as compared to android. it can run smoothly in 1gigz. it just need time and attention. wait till windows 8 shows up.
