Looking to upgrade from Galaxy S - Need advice

I'm thinking it might be time to move on from my lovely Droidaxy S

I'm looking for a phone that I can get by adding around 10k to this phone's price. So keep that in mind.

I'd prefer a non-AMOLED product since I'm kinda tired of this screen and would like to use an LCD now.

I've been thinking about getting the Arc S. Is that a good phone? Suggestions are most welcome.

Arc S would be a downgrade. Depending on how much you sell your Galaxy S for, you can get a used Sensation for 35-38k.

How is Arc S a downgrade? :s I don't play HD games or that stuff on my phone.

I'd go for an S2 but wasn't too impressed with the screen (no kidding lol), plus its a little out of my budget. I miss LCDs.

Wish I was in the US.. Some guy bought a brand new sensation from craigs for 200 bucks

Coming back to your query ... first of all, DONT sell your handset now. It still has potential. Want something different? Try the ICS (OneCosmic's ICS) from XDA.
Certainly you did not use your device to its full potential. Probably thats the reason of your boredom from it.

That said, you really want to upgrade? SGS2 it'd be then.
You can sell off your SGS for about 26-27k. You'd luck if you get more than that.

SGS2 costs around 38k in used, here in Lahore markets. You can either buy this, or a cheaper version the Sensation.

Arc-S would be not an Upgrade exactly. Even though the Design is tempting, but Hardware Wise, you'll get no benefit from it. Infact, SGS is still a better phone Overall.

^ LCDs have their own plus points. The pentile matrix is crap. The Nexus Prime can afford to have it since the ppi is much higher but in these 4.0 inch WVGA screens, pentile gives you slight jaggies.

LCD is more pleasant to look at. Some people just don't like the cartoonish super high contrast (or eventually get tired of it).

Arc S... is sexy. But is it well-supported by the community? Support can't be as good as Galaxy S ofc but still...

As for Sensation... What about that death-grip issue? The cam ain't that great either..

seriously abobobily, the resolution matters more than blacks... i have been using SLCD of sensation.. i loved it's sharpness, basically true colors.. Never has it disappointed me a single day with its display...

I've noticed some wallpapers of mine to look shit on SAMOLED on my GSII compared to S-LCD on my IS, I guess over saturation is to blame.Surely the SAMOLED offers extremely vivid colors compared to the dull S-LCD but the colors look far more natural on the latter.

@ASKnASK, why not stick with your GS for a couple of months ? There are plenty of new phones to be announced at CES.

Arc S is good choice but developers support is shit... though Sony stock Roms are brilliantly fast and snappy by default,.you won't find much variety other than status bar mods and battery mods..

Sensation doesn't suffer that death grip... You can check my Review thread in which i included deathgrip video...

Camera is quite good on Sensation.. Its just amazingin day light though noisy at night..

The biggest plus for Sensation is a huge developers support... with launch of ICS 4.0.3 for it, its on peak these days... You will find variety of Sense and NonSense ICS

ICS has brought up drastic changes in performance and smoothness compared to GB...
