These problems are not specific to SONY Roms in ANY way whatsoever. These are normally firmware related issues.
WiFi disconnection issues may happen due to a not-optimzed Modem ... a common problem in Gingerbread ROMS.
About Multitasking, it was related to Gingerbread too. I'll exclude Opera from this list for a moment since it consumes higher than 100MB memory which may hinder the Multitasking process. Other than that, most of the apps work just fine for Multitasking. Not to mention the Custom ROMS (say Cyanogen Mod) can also solve these issues.
25k is price of a Galaxy S dude. Nexus S has a higher price and reputation in market, and a SuperAMOLED version, for one is very VERY difficult to find and if you do find ... will cost close to 30k.
Let's hope what you said comes true and ics solves the wifi issue... Its not present normally when browsing internet and watching youtube videos etc... But a stress situation completely turns wifi off..
Torrents, Samba File sharing are currently biggest reasons.. I never countered these with HTC Desire or Sensation... There is something wrong with my router incompatible or Sony modem is not meant for stress...
On forums they say you have to install an application "wifi static" to resolve it...:-/
Secondly, i was rude by choosing opera as example but a 110mb free memory available after all applications closed is seriously less.. Something is taking up huge memory... Don't know what cuz i have frozen timescape and using Launcher pro...
It runs so smooth on Stock, don't feel like going for CM unless they resolve Camera issues...![]()
Ok i found one guy whos selling the amoled Nexus s for 25k ( according to him excellent condition)
It will be my first purchase of Used android so any tips suggestions, how to check used android set

I had a very bad experience with buying a used Android phone. I bought a used HTC desire handset and the very next day, while using the internet the set rebooted! turned out there was some hardware problem which caused the set to heat up and reboot after 6 to 8 minutes of continuous browsing or HD video recording.
My advice to you while checking out a second hand phone, stress test it properly. Browse the internet for some time, go to a heavy website like www.disney.com.au do browsing/stream videos for around 8 to 10 minutes. Also record HD video for about 10 minutes. If the phone survives without rebooting or heating up too much only then consider it.
I lost alot of money on that damn handset and I wont ever be going for a second hand set unless its from someone i really know well.
Dont get ripped off. Its your right to test the Phone properly before you buy!
Just make sure he's trustable because with cellphones you can never REALLY test them properly in just a few minutes.
Remember there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
Well it was Desire's known bug i.e. Random Reboot. And yes it was a hardware issue. But i saw only 2 or may be 3 Desires having this problem, rest all were just fine.
But you are right. Stressing the phone properly, thats what i ALWAYS tell people to do. I mean, if you are about to pay 20 or 30k to a person, you should take A LOT OF TIME to test/use the handset there. Doesn't matter if its 1 hours. Heck when i bought my SGS in used from market, i tested it for 1.5 hours. Not literally ... fo' real. And the shopkeeper didn't say a single word as long as i was sitting there using it.
My advice specifically for you is, do search over Internet before going to purchase ANY handset. Known problems or manufacturing faults are mostly listed on different sites or forums, under consumer reviews. You should also read the Consumer reviews along with other ones.
With Desire, it was easy to spot the problems as there were PLENTY of consumer comments/reviews over Internet about Desire having a Random Reboot Bug and that its a Manufacturing Fault in some batches.
