Best graphics!!!

hi guyz,whenever i think about best graphics one question clings into my mind and that is how come ps3 exclusives get the best graphics award each year... i know ps3's hardware is no match for a high end pc and pc are better than any of the consoles...but if thats the case why do ps3 games win the best graphics awards all the way from 2008 to 2011 and maybe the upcoming years as well.

In 2008-MGS4
2009-Uncharted 2
2010-God of War 3
2011-Uncharted 3
2012-The last of us(maybe XD)

I am not a fanboy or anything but i though i should ask this question to know why is this happening...looking at these i believe that ps3 exclusives might have graphics about equal or better than the pcs because there is no way people would rig ign or gamespot...Who knew the true power of the CELL PROCESSOR...Long live Ken Kutaragi

Well all of those games are PS3 exclusives, so they optimized it greatly to run on PS3 hardware and make use of its cell processor which gives an edge to PS3 over Xbox 360 in terms of graphics. Plus these developers are really talented in graphics department.
A PC exclusive would look a lot better if it was made by a developer know for its graphics. Remember "Crysis", it was at first made exclusively for PC's, and it is still one of the best looking game around even though it came out in 2007. If the PS3 developers made game exclusively for pc, they will surely look better. But consoles is where all the money is so they get more games.
The cell processor is what gives PS3 games a graphical boost.

PS3 games win because of graphical art I think, not because of graphical tech.

Most PS3 games have great graphical art.
All PC games have technically superior graphics, but some are let down by bad art.

Looks like the upcoming PC games like Reset would have superior technical graphics and superior art too!

I would guarantee you that PC will give 3x the graphics of the same multiplatform game being played on the consoles.

I am still not sure why console games win over PC games.

Maybe graphics of only exclusive games are matched in awards.

Nope, its like you said, its all about the graphical arts. Yes we get that PCs can run the most detailed tooth pick in existence, whatever, barely anyone gives a crap. But consoles (specifically PS3) can have a graphically awesome (yet not as detailed as the tooth pick) work of art.

Basically, PCs have the most brawn but no brains. PS3 has both, in great quantity.

I disagree. All multiplatforms look much better on the PC compared to any console.

Maybe they give the awards on basis of price to graphics ratio.

That's a misconception. It's a combination of both stellar tech and art. Both complement each other.

Because maybe they aren't as big graphical marvels as you believe them to be?

Take the Witcher 2's example, for instance. Looks great in still images, and the environments look beautiful. Start playing the game and you realize just how poor the animations and general character movement is. And don't even get me started on the character models. Let's just say it takes a lot away from the overall visual experience.

You mean like the terrible models in witcher, or the not-so-awesome looking crysis 1 without the mods? Totally.

Anyone who own a gaming PC and a ps3 with HDTV and has played these exclusives can tell that they are great both technically and artistically. Its true almost all of multi platform games look better on PC but PS3 exclusives especially God Of war 3 and Uncharted 2,3 are really impressive piece of work and are among with high graphics pc games.
PC games could look a lot better if they were PC exclusives
