Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins Announced for XBLA, PSN, Coming This September

Good news retro fighting fans, Capcom has today announced Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins, a compilation of two of the most popular arcade games of the 90’s; Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. Origins is slated to be released in September 2012 via XBLA and PSN.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins offers both the one-on-one gameplay of Marvel Super Heroes with its unique Infinity Gem system and the two-on-two carnage of the original Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, featuring a tag system, assists, and the wild Duo Team Attack. Bringing forth a host of features never before seen in these games, Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins features GGPO-enhanced online play with 8-player lobbies and spectator mode, HD graphical upgrades, dynamic challenges and replay saving.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points and on PlayStation Network for $14.99/€14.99/£11.99/AUD23.95. Who plans on checking it out?!?!

Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins Begins The Beatings September 25th


It's the eternal question: If you put two superheroes in a room, which one would win in a fight?

Marvel Super Heroes helped answer that question in the '90s, and now it and the first Marvel Vs. Capcom game are finally coming back to consoles.

Called Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins, it contains the two arcade classics. They have fully upgraded HD graphics and a host of features for fighting game fans, including 8-player lobbies, the ability to be a spectator on certain matches, and replay saves. There are also "dynamic challenges", essentially in-game trophies, although it's unclear if that means there's full trophy support. Here's a look at how those fancy HD graphics look:


So whether you're looking for some arcade nostalgia or want to play the game seriously, Capcom has you covered. It'll be available on PSN September 25th for $15 and XBLA September 26th for 1200 Microsoft Points.

We're just glad they're keeping the classic graphics, even if they could be slightly flawed sometimes.
Like, for example, Wolverine picking his nose.
