Dead or Alive 5 Gameplay Trailer

Current Team Ninja lead Yosuke Hayashi may be trying to break from some of the traditions of the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, but it appears the developer will dedicate some amount of its energies to one reason people play these games: breast physics. Dead or Alive 5, its creators say, will venture into unexplored depths of the boob sciences, with costumes that affect jiggle and feature varying levels of transparency.

According to a Famitsu interview translated by Andriasang, director Yohei Niibori says Team Ninja is paying careful attention to how Hitomi, Christie, Kasumi, Ayane and the rest of the female cast of DOA5 move in their various costumes. Those costumes, notably Hitomi's moistened tank top, will feature transparency like never before.

While Dead or Alive 5 appears to feature more modest female fighters, it's clear that fan service is still important to Team Ninja…

Dead or Alive 5 Won't Offer Extra DLC Fighters Because It's 'Unfair'



Team Ninja won't offer any extra characters for Dead or Alive 5 outside of the ones that will be on the disc.

Team Ninja chief Yosuke Hayashi said September's release of DoA5 won't offer any DLC packs with more fighters to play with because he and his team feel its "unfair" to those who don't download them.
Hayashi said the game is all about balance and it's hard enough to achieve that balance with the characters that are already in the game. Giving people the ability to buy additional fighters would throw off what they believe is an already perfect balance.

"We feel like this is a kind of sport, and you don't change the rules for sports. Everybody plays by the same rules. You don't have a 14-player soccer game versus an 11-player soccer game. That's just not fair."

He has a point about the advantage it offers some players and anyone could certainly understand why a developer wouldn't want to throw off the effectiveness of a project that people had poured their hearts and souls into perfecting for so many months. Still, DLCs, particularly those for fighters, can breathe new life into a game long after its novelty has worn thin. I certainly would have traded in my Mortal Kombat disc much earlier if Warner Bros. and NetherRealm didn't release the downright awesome Freddy Krueger add-on.
