Fun time i bet most of the owners here have had rrod atleast once *shrugs* am on my 3rd xbox currently (slim) one of them was broken when i dropped it one had a rrod which i will share

It was 2007 my unit was one of the very first models got it in 2006 i was playing svr 2007 suddenly the sound went off and the pictures appeared grainy i said 'Meh' restarted it and played for about 2 hours in the end xbox was acting weird my dashboard button was not working but all the other keys were and the sound was like a bloody vaccumm cleaner i turned if off and never played for 2 days and when i got to play again with a couple of frnds there it was the rrod i didn't know about it much back then i just kept restarting it but it never worked one of my friends told me it was a general hardware fault so i sent it to kiran electronics and got it back in a week and the next time i went rrod was when i got oblivian (that was mental torture) i went from praising the game to cussing microsoft in about 5 mins then i got a ps3 which never yloded i sold it and now have a 320gb slim and a xbox slim

so please share you rrod story,how it happened,why and how did you feel?

I usually play on my ps3.
This one afternoon, i started my 360 (120gb elite) to play some fable.
Next thing i know i see this 3/4 circle of red light on the power button of my xbox. Had a mini heart attack.
Then i removed the power cable, and everything, reattached them, and turns out it was a false alarm coz the connection to the socket was a little loose.

and once i was gonna play the lights flashed all 4 quads i had a major hear attack but then i noticed the av cable was not properly inserted lol

Never suffered from the RROD issue myself, The newer models are much more realible and failure rates have gone down.

My launch one was a real fighter, it rroded first in 07, i immediately turned the system off and when i tried playing again the next day it surprisingly worked fine, until it rroded again after a of couple months but then seemed to had fixed itself again the next day. This kept happening for over a year till finally in mid '09 it died and then for the first time i had it repaired. It still worked for another 2 months before dying again.
That time i just bought a new 360 and gave my old friend a long deserving rest lol it's still enjoying its retirement in my closet

Exact same thing happened to me, except much more intense.

I had just bought FF XIII and was about to play it. Considering the hype for it back in the day, I absolutely could not wait to play it.

I put in the disk and had just watched the opening cutscene. My jaw was all the way down on the floor. Then suddenly, my Jasper shut off and started showing the three red lights upon restart. Had a mini heart attack.

Later on found out that the plug was a little loose. And also that FF XIII sucked after the first chapter.

Using Xbox 360 for years and never had and an serious RROD, I got it once or twice but that was just because of electricity fluctuation

You are not a true gamer than, play 5-8hours straight and see the magic

i remeberd that horrible day when i bought xbox360 i played gears of war on it and after that i was playing lost planet than suddenly my xbox hang and i turned off and i turned on again xbox showed 3 red lights that was horrible day for me ...
