Capcom Devises a Way For Steel Battalion for Kinect to Cost $400

Pine for the days of yore when the cost of playing Capcom's crazy Xbox mech sim Steel Battalion cost upwards of $200? Well, if you want to relive the thrill of a huge upfront investment in oddball mech games, maybe you should consider the extremely limited collectors edition of Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor for the Xbox 360. It'll set you back a nostalgia-inducing $420.
No, this doesn't net you a massive dedicated controller featuring dozens of buttons. The Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor collectors edition, which appears to be a Japan-only e-Capcom deal right now, includes an Army jacket, helmet, bag, soundtrack and art book. Oh! And the game, of course.
Of course, one could argue that buying a Kinect controller for the sole purposes of playing Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor is all the rewarding cost one would need to recapture the magic of spending a lot of money for a single game.
Steel Battalion for Kinect comes to North American Xbox 360s on June 19, 2012, then to Europe and Japan a couple days later.
