The person asked me for my PTCL number and owner details and I provided it to him, he said that my package will be converted in 7 working days. Last time when I converted my PTCL 1mbps student package to 2mbps student package it took less than 24 hours for my account to get upgraded. So I waited for a day nothing happened I called them again and asked them about the status of my query they told me that It is already converted to 4mbps but I was still getting less than 2mbps downspeed and I told them about it and they told me that they have forwarded my complaint and a guy will come in 24hours to resolve the issue I said OK. Next day a guy came from PTCL and checked my PC he told me that he will send a Line Man's to check the issue as there is no problem in my modem, PC. Next day the line man came and he told me that I have to change my modem he charged me 1500 rupees for it and he changed my modem the problem was still unsolved when I asked him, he told me that I will be getting 4mbps speed in few hours I doubted his statement but I said OK lets see. And even after a day nothing happened. I talked to PTCL customer care live on their website the again forwared my compalint and another guy from PTCl came to my home next day and failed to solve the issue. Its about a month now and I am still waiting for my package to get upgraded when I call their customer care they say I am already on 4mbps but I am still getting less than 2mbps like always. Ok so this is weird,

I am trying to open gPotato.eu Free to Play MMORPG Portal - Free PC Online Games but keeping getting connection time out error. I tried from my mobile as well with same result. So I asked a friend, who also has PTCL and is also from Lahore, and he can open the site.. This has been happening for quite a while.

also, if I do "ping www.gpotato.eu" in command prompt, I do get a response

Any ideas why this is so? What possible solutions there are (other than using proxies)?

I'm seriously considering switching over to a different provider. I would prefer a wireless broadband provider, but I've heard complaints of throttling by WiTribe. And as for PTCL DSL, people call it the best and the worst at the same time. Is it true that they've blocked torrents and downloads? My friend was saying something like that.

Which service would you recommend in Lahore? It doesn't really matter if it isn't wireless. And I'm not one for online gaming.
