PC version is 100% canned.
Music to my ears :D

it's good news it must be only xbox360 exclusive sorry pc gamers u have to buy a 360 to play this game.yaar the trailer is haaaawt.

just want to ask ps3 guys are these graphics better than uncharted 2?
Posts like these made me write this blog.

Why can't people just be happy that they are lucky to have the game release on their console. Why do they have to be happy in someone else's sadness that said game isn't releasing on their platform?

Isn't this the companies' strategy to divide and rule? Collusion...
In the study of economics and market competition, collusion takes place within an industry when rival companies cooperate for their mutual benefit.
It's just for both companies' mutual benefit.

But some gamers fail to realize that they just wasted twice the amount of money just because of exclusives. They would've been much better off if the game had released on all consoles, allowing them to save the money to buy that PS3 and instead play games on the X360 they already own.

It is utterly shameful that some fanboys like the exclusivity and would be enraged if that game was released on other platforms. I ask: Why?! Why do you want to deprive a fellow gamer of enjoying that game when he wants to play it too but doesn't have the resources, be it money or space, to buy and maintain YOUR choice of console?

Wouldn't it be better if there were more gamers who would share their experiences?

This is the main reason PC Gaming is slowly dying, it's not because of piracy that companies release games late on PC or don't release at all. It's because they have a deal with the console maker for exclusivity. So that they can leech money out of more people.

It is another form of corruption that is affecting most gamers. It's okay if you don't prefer gaming on the PC, but wanting PC gaming to die out is nonsense because it's not beneficial to you in any case...it's just detrimental to the other people.

So I request all gamers who are reading to to please refrain from getting angry for an exclusive title that has become multi-platform. It is not beneficial to you that said title was exclusive.

Thank You

Actually, Afzal, think of it this way - it's more about trying to find a 'real' reason to own your platform of choice.

Say, for example, if I own an Xbox 360 and I see that every single game in the console's library is also available for the PC (and that too with the obvious graphical enhancements), I'm going to feel like I could've done without owning the console. However, games like Gears 2, Forza 3, and Alan Wake reassure that I'm getting my money's worth. That I just had to get the Xbox 360 because so and so games are only available for it.

Exclusivity is the easiest means of building long-term brand associations with your favorite platform. What's the first franchise that comes to mind when you think of the Xbox brand? Halo, right? Would it still hold true if Halo 3 and ODST were also available for the PC?

But if there were PC versions, you would've saved money by not buying the X360

long-term brand associations are not beneficial any customer in any way (in this case), they are only beneficial to the company.

If you could've done without the console, wouldn't it be better? Why would you want to spend 25k? Wouldn't you have preferred the game to be multi-platform if you didn't have the console and didn't want to spend money buying it?

Each to their own Afzal. I find fanboy conversations entertaining not offensive..whats th epoint in taking offense if someone says bad about a dumb cubical gadget sitting on my table top.I wonder how people take that as an excuse to swear at each other.Fan boy stand offs are meant to be fun and entertaining, not a death match.
You are right about "Divide and rule" tactics, but thats how the game and console industry makes money and is more of a business tactic than anything else.
I am happy with the most grphically advanced game "Crysis" being PC exclusive.

Sorry Afzal but you're wrong on the collusion count. No one wants to share, specially not in this industry. Its all about the moolah and numerous other factors. Alan Wake is eventually gonna make it to PC but this news alone must have sold 100K copies, not primarily because people are fanboys but because the cancellation makes fence-sitters think they're making a mistake and Alan Wake is a good game (why else would there be this furore).

As for the moolah, MS pays remedey to make exclusive game, win-win. remedy gets free press time, concessional royalty rates etc and MS gets royalty off the game plus live subscription and consoles.

PC gamers still get left out this way too. Yes MS would pay the creator to make exclusive games in some way...but in the end, keeping financial problems aside, it would still be better if a game is multi-platform than an exclusive. But those are kinda lucrative deals due to which exclusivity happens. This might actually cause a better quality game...but then again, is it bigger than more people having access to it?
