This was the first post on a blog I started some years ago...and the only post. :P
It was regarding the social situation of Karachi.

Mobile phone theft
My favorite topic, tell me...who, in our beloved city, feels safe while taking out an NSeries phone or an iPhone out of his/her pocket while on the streets? No one! How many have you been robbed of your valuable cell phones? What did you do to get it back? Did you ever get it back? Many people actually do, but most just block their IMEIs. This problem is increasing since guns are easily available to everyone and what's even more sad is that no concrete steps have been taken to even identify these robbers. This is a huge matter of public safety but definitely not the biggest.

Female safety
I was searching for girls phone numbers (let's be honest here) and I came across a very interesting site (pakspectator.com) which forced my to create this blog in the first place! I was so shocked with the amount of harassment females of Karachi face everyday in their lives...so we'll document this one regularly, hopefully we'll have some feedback from the girls themselves.

The ever-increasing foul language
Really, Karachi has been plagued with this foul-language disease. From 6 year-olds to 60 year-olds, you'll see everyone cursing so openly, not caring if there are any ladies or children in the vicinity. Foul language is becoming so common these days that there really is no limit.

Drugs
The most common thing we see every morning :) Charsi loge sitting and sleeping in the beautiful "green belts" of our newly beautified roads. They aren't the problem, the problem is how they get addicted and who sells all this crap to them!
Now we see educated people, doing drugs and loving it. Is this really the best you guys can do?!

Safety in general
Really...When's the last time you stepped out of your house without fear of getting robbed, mugged, hit by a stray bullet or getting hit by a speedy car? Public safety has become a huge issue as of late, and positive results are yet to be seen regarding the little steps the government has taken.

Abuse of mobile phones
The cheapest way of communication here, and the most abused! Every guy & gal uses it these days...but why the heck do people abuse this gift of technology is beyond comprehension. What do these people get making fool out of each other (except credit ofcourse :P)! Also, not to mention, PHONE SEX! For crying out loud man! What the hell do you get "sexing" on the phone!
Well, that's all I could think of for now, but you know what the root cause of all these problems is? I bet you do! Illiteracy and straying away from the path of Islam! In our beloved city, even the most educated people will be seen doing the most perverted things! Even they don't miss a change to peek inside a woman's shirt! It's really outrageous but it's just because they have no fear of the Almighty and that's because we don't study about Islam as much as we try to learn about the things it forbids. And by the way, if some of you are thinking electricity is a problem. First of all, it's not a society problem, it's a mixture of development, corruption and strategy problems. And secondly, isko Allah ki taraf se azaab samjho for our extremely shameless society. At the end, May Allah guide the citizens of our city and country to the right path, Aameen.

This post is almost 1.5 years old and has not been updated to reflect current situations.
Legalize arms.
lol...when have they been illegal in our city? har kisi ke pass toh hai.

I say, take arms from EVERYONE, except the police. Then if someone uses arms, police will be considered rouge.

@shary: yaar unemployment nahi hai. bohot jobs pari hain lekin loge chota kaam karna nai chahtey. I understand that problem, I wouldn't wanna do small work either (for life that is) lekin ab toh unhon ne life ki watt maar hi li hai so why should others pay for their mistakes.

There are still many jobs the govt can create...there needs to be a minimum wage rule first of all (if this is due to unemployment). There needs to be a place where these deprived people can reside...like a community or something, that will automatically create jobs for them. Also for beggars.

I don't think most of these people would NOT want to educate their children. heck if my driver can be proud of sending his children to school and them learning new stuff, why can't they. Problem is they cannot afford daily living. These people need a way of living. These people haven't come from Hades...these are from our own nation!

What about drugs though :P I know people on PG who do drugs =D
