Hello
Yar I went to saddar to buy a psp but I have a few questions which I want someone who knows about psp to clarify.

1.Firstly does anyone know if the rumors about psp2 are correct because then i would rather wait for it.

2. The core version was selling for 10600 rs. Also the shopkeeper said that new value packs are not available so he will give me a demo umd for 500 rs and earphones for 500rs. Are these prices fair?

3. The shopkeeper said the psp will be already modified to run pirated games from memory stick and the firmware will be either 3.03 or 3.10. But in most other threads people have said that firmware below 3.03 is needed to run pirated games. Is the shop keeper trying to fool me? Also will I be able to run ps1 games on the firmware mentioned above?

4. A 2 gb mem card was selling for 1200 rs so I assume it must be a fake. But is there some way to know if it is a "good fake" because I know someone who bought a fake 2 gb card for 600rs.

I know these are a lot of questions but it took me a year to save the money so I dont want to waste it. Please Help!!

1. There is no confirmation. But they look true. And even if the rumors are true, it will take at least 6 months more before they launch anything like that. And it no actually PSP2. Its the same hardware with a better slim design. Wait until the E3 if you can for confirmation and release date.

2. That price is ok. You NEED a UMD to play pirated games. so either get the Demo UMD or you'll have to purchase atleast 1 origional UMD. And earphone price is ok too i guess.

3. Make sure you purchase the PSP with OE firmware at the end. Check the firmware version under settings. It must be 3.03 OEA or 3.03 OEB or 3.03 OEC or 3.10 OEA. DO NOT purchase if it doesnt say OE at the end.

4. Thats the area which truly sucks. get the mem card with white writing instead of golden. It will be hard to find and expensive. a 512 MB one cost me 4000 a few months back.

You can use a technique called "Extracting the Compressed Archive". Depending on your experience level, i am not sure if you'll be able to handle this or not. Anyways first you have to download a Software Called WinRAR, then go through the process of installing it. Then Right-Click on the Archive(RAR) and choose Extract. This will mysteriously create some new folders in one of which will be your ISO or your CSO. Enjoy.

Yes, on all the versions above 3.03 OEC... but you have to either download converted PS1 games for PSP. Or you'll have to convert them for yourself.

Iam buying the psp today so one final question. Should I buy one with 3.03OE or 3.1OE . Is there any major difference between the two?

Thanks but the shopkeeper said that 3.1 plays more video formats or something like that. Also I wanted to confirm that 3.03 will run ps1 games bcause that is one of the main reasons iam getting the psp.
