Bioshock * Also a not so shocking joint winner in our 360 charts Welcome to Rapture, A City like no other, once at the very height of technology, art and prosperity. Yet, it crumbles painfully to the depths of the ocean, what could have possibly gone wrong? Bioshock is a complex quagmire of politics, ideologies and perceptions. A plane-crash survivors ends up in what was once the grandest, biggest, busiest city of them all. House to the Intellects, Industrialist and Visionaries of era. Play by play the mystery unravels itself, the secrets of the utopia reveal upon you and you’re sucked in ever further. Rapture tells its tale without using words, the more time you invest in the universe the better the return. Bioshock is everything from action, adventure, horror and role playing. From one district to another, filled with denizens, each with his own sad tale and his own shade of grey, Bioshock is an amazing thrill ride that never slows down. It’s something that must not be missed, a truly unique blend of storytelling, atmosphere and gameplay. If there ever was a game that deserved game of the year, it’s this. No second guesses. Bioshock will be one of the most memorable experiences of your gaming life. |

Attaining The Impossible
Video Gaming is just more then a simple entertainment, it's a multibillion
dollar industry in the booming world economy. The developed countries adopted
this field seriously and have achieved excellence in it. But unfortunately in
our under-developed countries like Pakistan, India etc (India is actually
achieving it in a little bit better way) the most neglected field is the field
of video gaming beside the other fields. From the term "Video Games" our desi
peoples (specially parents) forget about other facts which are attach with
gaming, like game development/programming, animation, music, learning via
simulation
etc.
In 2005, after seeing that on one is interested in promoting video gaming in
Pakistan, a ordinary guy/student took a darning step, by planning and then
building a platform for local pakistani peoples who like to play video games
both on hardcore and casual basis, even with lack of support in the start, low
finiancial aid he dedicated his energies on building this platform. Muhammad
Bilal, a student from Pakistan’s Metropolitan city Karachi was the dreamer and
the founder of the 1st Pakistani gaming platform named as PakGamers! He started
it all alone without any support but soon he found some other “foolish” minds
joined him in this journey though they were not foolish but to the people they
still are. Radd, Devilcallsmedad, Chandoo, Rafay, J.Chang, Arsal and Atif, these
were the volunteers who joined Bilal as the team members and without any reward
from anyone they just keep on going towards a journey which seems impossible.
But life is not as simple as we imagine. The Pakgamers set a jolt when their
server hard-drived crashed/burned after a year of operation on 2nd Jauary, 2007
and the whole data was lost along with 800 members. This was a big loss
especially when you are doing this at your own. But hail to the might heart of
Bilal who didn’t lose his nerves, though the revival was demanding a miracle,
and that miracle happened on 15th of January, 2007 when PakGamers started to
breathe again. The situation was not under control yet and the site needed the
staff, the fans and most importantly the sacrifice of the gamers. But again
another miracle happened and the old PG guys started to join it again and Team
PG started to work from the ground zero with a new and aggressive sprite of
establishing the community again and since then the PG - PakGamers is gaining
reputation and improving itself day and night, a simple prove is 1600+ users in
just 365 days of operation :)
As the 2007 is going to end the 1st birthday of PG is approaching (15th January,
2007). At this most auspicious moment Pakgamers just wanted to thanks the
members who put their efforts in making this site the better one if not the
best. The journey is not over yet, in fact it is just started, to attain the
impossible.
Regards,
Atif, PakGamers.com
