Even after putting a lot of effort on graphical jump than the console versions, it appears that Watch Dogs 2 PC version has 61% less player count than the previous Watch Dogs game. The declining curve of player count could be due to fan’s choices to opt a console version over a PC version due to console market or maybe it is the past reflection of Ubisoft’s doing to original Watch Dogs graphics shown at E3 versus what it really was when it launched as a final version on PC.
Developers at Watch Dogs 2 have put extravagant effort into PC version of game, which includes collaboration with NVIDIA GameWorks for highly detailed rendering, HBAO+, immersive lighting and detailed shadows with HFTS technology, TXAA for clearer and cleaner edges, no FPS cap and 4K textures and last but not least ANSEL Game capture tool to arrest the moments in 360 degree captures. Even though with all such efforts the Developers put into the project, they could not capture a wide audience of fans for PC version of Watch Dogs 2 as compared to first Watch Dogs game. In the first week of release, Watch Dogs (first game) had 47,000 players on board, while Watch Dogs 2 had 18,000 PC players in first week, which makes a potential 61% drop in player count. Since then, the numbers dropped significantly to half, currently around 9,600 players are on PC version of Watch Dogs 2.
